OKRs as a Leadership Tool
Steven Granese
The point of implementing OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) is not to achieve a goal, but to align people towards a common mission. OKRs are a tool used by leaders to clarify the future for their people, and to align them on the organizations’ top priorities. They help leaders communicate what results they want to achieve, and why they want them, so they can delegate the “how” to their teams. In this session, we will review the basics of OKRs including a simple example. We will also dive into an important analogy that will help you implement OKRs the right way.
Steven specializes in helping organizational leaders execute their strategic initiatives by applying principles from the productivity and agile movements. He has repeated success helping growth-oriented companies to scale their delivery operations and product development efforts to match their business objectives.
Recognized as an expert on product development, Steven is an avid speaker for companies, conferences, and user groups on Agile, OKRs, Product Discovery, and Design Thinking. He holds masters degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University and a bachelors Degree from Wake Forest University.
